Our local union is supportive of retirees through Local 666's Retirees Club. Membership includes spouses. Compatibility and a relaxed atmosphere are key factors. Meeting with retirees renews friendships. Past work experience and sunshine reports are shared.
The union secretary, Brant Dunn, attends meetings, keeping us connected with the local union . Health and Welfare reports are given. Members sick or hospitalized are reported. Results from committee meetings are valuable insurance updates. Members ask questions or request advice concerning insurance issues. Club retirees are a welcome entity of union membership. We receive recognition during union meetings and may voice our opinion on issues presented. Club members receive mailings on union events and issues. Our meeting room service fee and seniority drawings are funded by the union. We are included in local union business.
Our club is very caring. Members inform each other concerning their health. Medications and good doctor's names are shared. The club donates to the Helping Hands and Christmas for Kids funds. We care for each other with a helpful attitude.
Club meetings include a business session. Officers and committee reports are given. Occasionally, guests present programs on various topics. Motions requiring a vote may be made. Officer elections and donations are examples. Our session ends with door prizes and seniority drawings. A meal gratuity recipient is determined monthly.
